Michael Kaufman is the rhythm guitarist and a lead vocalist for ACE. Mike previously co-founded the Stella Blues Band, a leading New York area Grateful Dead tribute band. Mike has been a devotee of Bob Weir for many years. In addition to being a student of the Grateful Dead and Bob Weir, Mike studies jazz guitar and has a successful IT consulting business.
Larry Siebert is the lead guitarist for ACE, and appreciates the sound of many blues, rock and jazz guitarists and incorporating them into his playing including, of course, Jerry Garcia. Over the last 10 years Larry has been part of a regular jam that is Dead-centric, enabling him to enhance his "Dead" repertoire. He was in another area cover band, Suburban Chaos, until deciding to help create ACE. Larry is completing a guitar and jazz program through the Berklee School of Music, and is a mergers and acquisition advisor with Woodbridge International.
Mark Mattson, keyboards and lead vocals. Mark Mattson’s first Grateful Dead concert was 9/8/73 at the Nassau Coliseum, and he saw them live 51 times. His keyboard influences include Keith Godchaux, Nicky Hopkins, Bruce Hornsby, Chuck Leavell, Page McConnell, Garth Hudson, and Steve Nieve. In addition to playing with Ace, he performs the music of Phish with Bathtub Gin and classic rock with Tiberius. Mark is a long-time taper, even though actual tapes are generally no longer used, and he regularly participates in the Grateful Dead Scholars Caucus, with a published chapter on memories for Grateful Dead concerts and a chapter coming out on expressive and structural variations in performances of some Grateful Dead songs.
Ken Kaufman, drums and lead vocals, can do it all. With ACE he's primarily the drummer , however sometimes he'll play bass, and if asked can play guitar. Highly in demand, Ken is always participating in a number of musical projects
Osvin Yanes, bass guitar, full of youth and energy, is a later-comer to the Dead music scene. Listening to Phil Lesh has been an eye-opening experience. Osvin also participates in several musical projects.
